The X-ray source should be open or closed

Release time:2022-07-06Publisher:Jeenoce

Anyone who knows more about X-ray products should know that the core of X-ray is the X-ray source and flat panel detector, and the X-ray source is separated from the tube and closed tube. The requirements of the ray source are different in different scenes. Generally speaking, closed tube is OK for small electronic components, and open tube is mostly used for large products. For ordinary tests, closed pipes are sufficient for use and do not need maintenance. Open pipes are easy to be damaged and need regular maintenance.

In terms of normal use, it is no problem to use the ray source for 5-10 years. The physical structure between them is mainly different. The closed tube adopts the refraction principle, and the window has a certain distance from the focus, while the open tube is focused transmission, which is a small focus on the size of the window.

After understanding the principle, in fact, consumers should be most concerned about performance and price.

In terms of performance, the open tube has a large radiation range and can irradiate 180 degrees, which is of little significance for ordinary planar 2D detection, but it is of great significance for CT imaging. This is also the main reason why the open tube is widely used in CT. It is good to open the tube, but it is expensive. For industrial detection, if the planar detection method is adopted, the closed tube can meet the demand, and there is no need to spend a higher cost to choose the open tube.

In terms of cost performance, the closed tube has a longer service life and does not need maintenance, while the open tube requires frequent maintenance and the lamp tube is easy to burn out.

In summary:

Open tube is mostly used in CT, and closed tube is enough for ordinary plane detection;

Regular maintenance is required for pipe opening, but not for pipe closing;

Short service life of open pipe and long service life of closed pipe;

Opening the pipe is expensive, while closing the pipe is much cheaper;

When selecting whether to open or close the pipe, for small product inspection or plane inspection, select closed pipe.
