How to measure the thickness of three proofing paint

Release time:2022-03-31Publisher:Jeenoce

After the circuit board is coated with three proofing paint by the coating machine, does its coating thickness meet the requirements? This requires us to measure to ensure that it meets domestic and international standards. Now it is a key factor in conformal coating process control. International North electronics tells you that there are two methods to measure the thickness of three anti paint coating. In the wet film measurement process of these methods, the application in the coating process and drying after coating do not damage the dry film measurement of the coating.

The line is measured after the three proofing paint is applied by the coating machine and cured by UV. The coating is dry enough. It is through the use of non-contact technology and eddy current. The positest system can measure the conformal coating on the flat surface of the test probe very quickly and accurately to ± 1 micron film 25-50 microns. The measurement is almost instantaneous and repeatable. The results provide a direct thickness measurement of conformal coating.

The test coupon is an ideal method for measuring coating thickness, whether sprayed or impregnated, and can be kept as a record of physical properties. The circuit board provides a test coupon for permanently measuring the coating application at the same time and accurate guidance on the thickness of the coating.

Measurement of wet film conformal coating

Another method of dry film measurement is to complete the coating of conformal coating and dry wet film technology, which allows operators to ensure quality control while the coating is still wet.

Using too much coating can be expensive. Wet film measurement is useful for conformal coatings. Dry film thickness can only be destructively measured or may be problematic for applications exceeding conformal coatings.

The wet film meter is applied to the wet conformal coating and the thickness of the conformal coating represented by the teeth. The dry film thickness can then be calculated from the measurement of the solid resin content of the conformal coating.
