After all, X-rays are radiation, which can pose a certain threat to health.


The reason for industrial X-ray detection is the same as that for medical detection. Both of them use X-rays to detect whether there is an abnormality in a certain position, such as BGA welding detection, whether the chip gold wire is broken, and industrial detection of plastic and other materials.

The difference between X-ray and AOI


X-ray belongs to internal flaw detection and AOI belongs to appearance detection. Many enterprises generally use the combination of AOI and X-ray detection for internal and external flaw detection of products.


AOI uses optical imaging to detect whether there are defects in the product appearance, such as whether the SMT plug-in is in place, whether there are scratches on the product surface, etc. if you want to detect whether the gold wire inside the chip is abnormal, AOI can't meet the demand. At this time, if X-ray detection equipment is used, light can be directly irradiated into the product internal detection. At present, it is widely used in the field of SMT, such as BGA, CSP, flip chip, QFN, dual line QFN, DFN and other defects can also detect solder joints and internal damage of printed circuit boards, packaging components, connectors, etc.
