What factors are related to the accuracy and error of industrial CT?

Industrial CT is used to measure the complex internal structure of a product and detect all faults within it, without dismantling the product at any one step. High-precision non-destructive inspection system provides technical support for manufacturers. The system generates 2D images by capturing X-rays projected through the sample. A 3D CT(computed tomography) image is produced by rotating the sample continuously and then processing it by computer.

Industrial CT inspection systems generate X-rays by aiming hot electrons at a metal target. In general, the intensity of the X-rays can be increased by increasing the voltage of the thermoelectron generation tube to penetrate a thicker sample. However, this creates a large "focal size" (the size of the concentration of hot electrons on the target object), which reduces the sharpness of the resulting X-ray image.

In general, the higher the accuracy of industrial CT detection results, the better, but the detection accuracy is related to various factors, theoretically speaking, the detection accuracy reflects the size of the error between the measured value and the real value of the physical quantity to be measured, the greater the error, the lower the accuracy, the smaller the error, the higher the accuracy.

If the measurement process is carried out under ideal environmental conditions, the results of the measurement will be very correct. However, this ideal measurement environment and conditions do not exist in practice, that is, the error is unavoidable.

The size of the error is related to the precision of industrial CT equipment, random factors in the detection process, measurement methods and many other factors, among which the precision of industrial CT equipment has a great influence on the error.

The accuracy of the general measuring instrument is its minimum scale length, for example, the minimum scale of the ordinary ruler is 1mm, that is, the measurement accuracy is 1mm. In GJB 5312, pixel is defined as the basic unit of industrial CT image. The detection accuracy of industrial CT equipment is the pixel size.

If the conditions of industrial CT equipment permit, the industrial CT detection accuracy of the workpiece can be obtained through the probe size, detector size and workpiece size.
